Hello, hello, hello friends!
It's been such a long time since we connected. BIG thanks to those who joined us in the interim. I hope all is well for all of you our "family members" and that you are all as gung-ho about life and prospects as we are here at Kotch. We spent the last three months overhauling the Kotch Magazine site, we also completed and uploaded the exciting #3 issue of the magazine and working enthusiastically to bring you #4! Excitement abounds as we move forward!
We are always looking for "life's champions;" those who through zeal, determination and sheer faith have managed to tear down mountains that stood in the path of progress and achievements. Please reach out to us regarding those you know.
Also be reminded to get your friends to join The Quiet Room here. Moments of meditation serve to strengthen us in faith and spirituality, in essence, bringing us closer to the nucleus of self and creative center. In a fast paced world we need to claim those moments for introspection and the continued envisioning of higher achievements.
Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world.” ~Calvin Coolidge
Today I am sending you Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, love & prosperity (both material and spiritual) Her four hands represent the four ends of human life: dharma or righteousness, "kama" or desires, "artha" or wealth, and "moksha" or liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” ― Albert Einstein
What does spiritual intelligence mean?In order to understand spiritual intelligence it is useful to first be clear on what we mean when we use these two words.
Being Spiritual: To be 'spiritual' is to think, act and interact from an awareness of self as spirit not form, soul not body. Most of us are taught to believe we are our physical forms, and so we identify with our body or the labels we give to our bodies such as nationality, race, gender, profession etc. This wrong sense of self is what creates all fear, anger and sadness in life. From a spiritual point of view these emotions are always the result of ego (misidentification), which then blocks access to your true spiritual nature which is peaceful, loving and joyful.
Having intelligence: Intelligence is to use what you know in the right way at the right time in the right place with the right intention. For example if you 'know' your self as a spiritual being you will also 'know' that you do not own or possess anything. When something in your life is damaged or lost, it does not affect you in any way – you are able to use your spiritual power to accept and move on. If someone praises the clothes you wear, or insults you in any way or comments negatively about your looks, you are NOT affected because you 'know' that your real beauty lies within your character, within your nature, which no one can ever take away. In that moment you draw on the inner power of that knowledge and use it to remain stable in the face of others negativity. In effect you are drawing on your spiritual strength which is only released when you know who and what you are, and then using that strength in the right way, in the right place at the right time.
What is the difference between spiritual intelligence and spirituality?Spirituality is to 'know' who you are and Spiritual Intelligence is to 'realise' who you are and to live life in that awareness. You have always been who you are and, in truth, you can never be other than who you are, but it requires 'realisation' i.e. that moment when you 'see it', when you 'get it' and then you 'be it'.
Spirituality is the knowledge of yourself as spirit/soul, and the understanding of your highest spiritual qualities and attributes, which are love, peace, purity and bliss. Spiritual Intelligence is the expression of these innate spiritual qualities through your thoughts, attitudes and behaviours. Being spiritual means the ego has dissolved, virtue has been restored to character and spiritual values connect your inner and outer worlds (thought to action). It is the ability to see every other human being as soul/spirit, and thereby transcend all the false identities of race, colour, gender, nationality, profession and religion. It is in this awareness that we are then able to recognise and connect with the Supreme Power.
Having our desires fulfilled is about expanding our sense of self to cosmic proportions so that ultimately it is not our small ego that is desiring and being fulfilled but the cosmos’ desire and fulfillment itself that is reflected through our individuality. This expansion of the self means that what we desire will naturally change to become more selfless and less ego-centric. The achievement of those intentions will become less reliant upon individual effort and more on the flow of evolution in the moment. As long as you are on the path toward self-realization, the progression from small desire to divine order unfolds spontaneously all by itself.Love,Deepak
Marlene Daley - “A 3rd World Awakening”
Whether travelling throughout the United States to find antique collectibles and vintage clothes for her boutique in Jamaica, carving out a successful career in real estate or in her current role as a pharmaceutical sales representative, Marlene Daley has relied on an inner awareness to guide her journey.
In retrospect, Marlene sees her humble beginnings in Jamaica and the life she forged for herself and her four children after a difficult divorce, as preparation for coming into her contract. As founder and editor-in-chief for Kotch Magazine she is passionate about bringing editorials that will cushion the stark reality of the dawning of a new day. Kotch Magazine is a rapidly growing online publication which celebrates the highest achievements of Caribbean people around the world. In addition, it provides a panoramic view of all other cultures, each with its offering of an indigenous or unique value to the common good.
Marlene's autobiography, “A 3rd World Awakening,” is a culmination of all this and more. In it, she places great emphasis on the awareness of her spirituality – the essence of who or what she is. And she has established this online presence through Kotch Magazine (www.kotchmagazine.com), which also has a social platform, to allow its members to become more attuned to the essence of who they are, and to share those regularly occurring miracles that everyone experiences, but are often too busy to acknowledge.
Marlene intends to provide with "A 3rd World Awakening" and through the forum that Kotch presents, an opportunity for all of us to continuously share and learn from each other's collective experiences. Encountering and overcoming challenges are integral parts of the human experience which are made more tenable with spiritual awareness. Believing strongly that we sometimes desperately need a word of encouragement, some form of inspiration that can help us to remain centered and continue on our course without broken faith, Marlene offers Kotch Magazine at www.kotchmagazine.com, as the go to site to fill those spiritual needs.
